دراسة جديدة لعلاج مرض الاستسقاء الدماغي تشكك في علم الاعصاب

فيها وجود بعض الناس الذين فقدوا معظم أنسجة الدماغ نتيجة مرض الاستسقاء الدماغي حيث حل محلها ماء وبعد العلاج
رغم ذلك لم يتأثر وعيهم العقلي بشيء مما ينعك بالتشكيك في افتراضات علم الأعصاب الحالية
الاستسقاء الدماغي أو hydrocephalic brain رغم تغيره لبنية الدماغ أو المخ لديهم بشكل غير طبيعي : إلا أنهم ثبت احتفاظهم بوعيهم وقدرات ذكائهم الطبيعية !! وذلك رغم الفقد لجزء كبير من المخ لديهم وبقي مكانه ماء !!
يقول الدكتور دونالد Forsdyke : " أن مثل هذه الحالات تشكل مشكلة بالنسبة للفريق الرئيسي لعلماء علم الأعصاب ولعلم الأعصاب نفسه
لأنه كيف يمكن للمخ المائي أو فيما يعرف بالاستسقاء الدماغي أن يسع نفس كمية المعلومات التي يعيها المخ العادي دون أي تغير في مستوي الذكاء ؟!! المعلومات لا تساوي حجم الدماغ
وعلى ذلك فإن العلاقة الشهيرة بين مقياس حجم الدماغ وكمية المعلومات : لم تعد تعني شيئاً .. وعلى ما يبدو الوقت مناسب لكي يتم النظر من جديد في سبل كيفية تخزين أدمغتنا للمعلومات الخاصة بهم " !!
في حين أن النظرة التقليدية هي أن المعلومات المتعلقة بالذاكرة طويلة الأمد في الدماغ تتمركز في بعض المواد الكيميائية أو الشكل المادي ..
جدير بالذكر أنه من ضمن الاحتمالات التي وضعها الدكتور دونالد لتفسير تلك المعضله هي وصفه للدماغ أو المخ أنه بمثابة "سحابة التخزين" cloud storage مثل الفكرة المنتشرة حاليا في أجهزة الكمبيوترات والأجهزة النقالة للتخزين المؤقت (أو حمل) المعلومات لحين استدعائها
مما يشير إلى أنه ربما "الدماغ [هو] فقط بمثابة مستقبلات أو ارسال لشكل من أشكال الموجات الكهرومغناطيسية والجسيمات ... وان الذاكرة يمكن ان تكون تخزن خارج نطاق الدماغ او في هيئة أخرى دون الذرة غير معروفة لدي العلماء الان !!!
